Millie Gray is my pseudonym. Due to the nature of the blog I have changed names to protect identities. However, the only thing that isn’t real is the name.
I’m 23, I love to bake, read, knit and maintain my garden allotment. I live with my wonderful partner, George. We recently got engaged! I have worked for a corporate company full time for 6 years and I love it! I love keeping fit and healthy! On the face of it, it looks like I lead a relatively normal life. However, I am a survivor. I have been a prisoner for 23 years, imprisoned by my own mother.
I decided to start this blog when I finally realised I had escaped, I had survived and now I need to carry on surviving. I wanted to heal my own wounds through helping others, I find it easier to write about my ordeal rather than talking about it.
Although my mother, who I refer to as “her” in my blog, wasn’t diagnosed with NPD (narcissistic personality disorder) in my opinion she was/is a text book case.
Anybody can be a victim, even you reading this. It could be that your abuser is your partner, a parent, a friend, a sibling, your boss…absolutely anyone.
I hope you find my journey useful.
Be strong x
